Lancashire icon Freddie Flintoff once humorously confessed that he would celebrate if his daughter brought home his ex- England team-mate Alastair Cook.

Flintoff , 47, shared the international cricket pitch with Cook for three years before hanging up his England jersey in 2009. The duo clinched the Ashes together in Flintoff's final year as an England player and developed a strong friendship, leading to Flintoff declaring himself a "massive fan" of Captain Cook.

In 2014, just two months prior to the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, Cook was replaced as England's one-day captain by Eoin Morgan. Despite acknowledging that the decision to appoint Morgan as captain was a wise one, Flintoff disclosed the extent of his admiration for Cook.
