The Workplace Gender Equality Agency is hiring for a new chief executive, after Mary Wooldridge announced she would not seek reappointment in 2026.
In a statement on LinkedIn, Ms Wooldridge said she had always intended to serve a single five-year term as the agency head.
"The time goes surprisingly quickly and there's still more to do, but I think we have achieved a lot," she said.
"I will keep fighting for fairness and equality, but now is the time to hand over the mantel at WGEA."
Ms Wooldridge, a former Victorian Liberal MP, was appointed to the role in 2021 .
Recruitment has begun to find the next chief executive, who is expected to take over after May 2026.
The agency's remit expanded significantly during Ms Wooldridge's tenure, after the Albanese government mandated businesse
