Some 26 businesses in Greater Manchester were forced to call in administrators just last month.

That list includes Safeway Infrastructure Support Limited, a long-time rail and metro constructor, based in Manchester. It also includes companies based in Greater Manchester’s industry hotspots – like Datatechnics, a software company of more than a decade based at Salford ’s Media City, and Enthalpy Ltd, a company based at the Deva City Office Park hailed as ‘the heart of the Northern powerhouse’ at the edge of Manchester city centre .
