Hyderabad: The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad received a bomb threat on Sunday concerning a flight from Bahrain to Hyderabad, which led to the aircraft being diverted to Mumbai as a precaution, police said.

An email threatening that a bomb was placed on board the flight triggered the diversion. The flight safely landed in Mumbai, where thorough security checks were conducted with no suspicious items found, confirming that the threat was a hoax, an official stated.

Following a complaint filed by RGIA officials, a case has been registered, and investigations into the origin of the email are ongoing. Authorities assured that all necessary protocols were followed to ensure passenger safety during the incident.
