The biggest match of Thomas Frank ’s reign so far brought the heaviest defeat.

Tottenham were beaten 4-1 by Arsenal in the north London derby and it is hard to make the case that they deserved anything more.

It was a turgid match for much of the first half, largely by Frank’s design. For 36 minutes Spurs kept the hosts at bay, but by half-time it was 2-0 after goals from Leandro Trossard and Eberechi Eze.

There were two more for Eze after the break, a particularly painful hat-trick for Spurs after their attempts to sign him in the summer.

Richarlison scored a superb goal from 40 yards out, the ball floating perfectly over David Raya and under the bar. The positives for Spurs ended there.
