Police are appealing for information after a crash this evening. At around 6.10pm on Sunday November 23, Merseyside Police received a report of a crash involving a white van and a grey Volkswagen on Robins Lane.

The grey Volkswagen was then abandoned on the St Helens street while the van drove off. It was further reported that, before the crash , an altercation took place involving a group of men. The road was closed after the crash.

At 6.40pm, traffic monitoring site Inrix said: "Robins Lane in both directions partially blocked due to an accident at Waterdale Crescent."

The Robins Lane junction with Waterdale Crescent is yards away from a Merseyside Police station.
