PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man and child are dead after a shooting that seriously hurt two other people in south Phoenix on Saturday.
Just before 3 p.m., Phoenix Police responded to a Lowe’s parking lot near 19th Avenue and Baseline Road after an alleged road rage shooting involving a white SUV and a sedan. When police arrived, they found four people in the SUV who had been shot.
Police say the driver, 30-year-old Quincy Jay Polk, died at the scene. An 8-year-old girl, Envy Cardenas, was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died the next day.
Authorities say the woman in the passenger’s seat was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and a second child has non-life-threatening injuries. A third child was not injured by the gunfire but was still hospitalized as a precaution.
