INDIANAPOLIS – The Superintendent of the Indiana State Police, Anthony Scott, has announced the promotion of Sergeant Megan Imel to the rank of Lieutenant. Lieutenant Imel will serve as the Field Operations Officer and oversee the various components of the Indiana State Capitol Police. Each state has its own Capitol Police force, responsible for the security of its Capitol building and grounds.
Imel, who is originally from Valparaiso, Indiana, is a 2008 graduate of Center Grove High School and first joined the State Police as a civilian in 2009. She graduated from the 200th class of the Indiana State Law Enforcement Academy in 2013. She was appointed as an Officer and assigned to the Indiana State Capitol Police in Indianapolis, where she has served for twelve years. During that time,
