AMELIA, La. (WAFB) - A man is facing kidnapping charges in connection with the disappearance of a 13-year-old.

According to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies found the teenager safe in Texas, along with Kevin Renan Vargas-Aguilera, on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Deputies said Vargas-Aguilera was arrested and two days later extradited to the St. Mary Parish Enforcement Center, where he was booked on the charges of simple kidnapping, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, simple criminal damage to property, and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

The teenager was first reported missing on Nov. 17.

Deputies said the suspect left the girl’s home in Amelia, taking her with him.

His bond was reportedly set at $44.000.
