PALATKA, Fla. — Palatka will keep its city manager following a misconduct investigation and corrective training.

At a special meeting Monday night, the Palatka City Commission voted unanimously to keep Marcia Carty as city manager.

The vote came after a 30-day cure period in which Carty was tasked with meeting certain requirements to ensure she is fit to continue in the role.

Nine complaints from city employees were made against Carty, alleging she created a toxic work environment, made inappropriate comments on race, appearance and age, and used city employees to assist with personal favors like fixing doorknobs at her home and retrieving her car. Carty denied most allegations, while admitting that a public works employee did help with work at her home..
