Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London (5) runs the ball in the first quarter against the Carolina Panthers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

It's been a rough year for the Atlanta Falcons. Even 2025 success story and wide receiver Drake London has had his ups and downs.

After missing Week 8 with a hip injury – his second career missed game – London made his triumphant return to the tune of three straight games with 100-plus yards. Then he got hurt again.

The Falcons' top wideout suffered a PCL sprain in the final moments of regulation in Atlanta's Week 11 loss to the Carolina Panthers. It forced London to miss overtime of that game as well as the Falcons' Week 12 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Head coach Raheem Morris said London is considered week-to-week with the knee injury, though he should return at some point this season. That's a better outlook than Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who is out for the year after suffering a knee injury of his own in that same Week 11 loss to the Panthers.

Here's the latest injury update for London:

When will Drake London return?

Head coach Raheem Morris told reporters on Nov. 26 that he considers London doubtful for the Falcons' Week 13 game against the Jets.

Last week, on Nov. 19, Morris told reporters that he was hopeful to get London back for Week 13. The Falcons' wide receiver did not participate in any practices during Week 12 in the lead-up to Atlanta's win over the Saints.

If London misses another game, it will be his third of the season. The fourth-year wideout had never missed more than one game in a season prior to this year, but a hip injury that kept him out Week 8 and the recent knee injury have held him to nine games played in 12 weeks this season.

Whenever London does return, he'll be catching passes from Falcons veteran backup quarterback Kirk Cousins, who will start the remainder of the season. Penix is out for the rest of 2025 after partially tearing his ACL.

Drake London stats

London had recorded at least 100 yards in each of the three games prior to suffering his knee injury. Here's how his stats look through 12 weeks and nine games played:

  • Targets: 94
  • Receptions: 60
  • Receiving yards: 810
  • Yards/reception: 13.5
  • Touchdowns: 6

London's 13.5 yards per catch would be a career high in a single season. The Falcons' leading receiver is averaging exactly 90 yards per game and could still be on pace to reach the 1,000-yard mark for a second straight year if he returns in the next couple of weeks. He's also three touchdowns shy of matching his career high of nine, which he set last year.
