And as luck would have it, Canada has been placed in this Group of Death that will be topped by Test nations South Africa (No. 5), New Zealand (No. 4) and Afghanistan (No 10).
Making up the rest will be associate teams Canada, ranked 18th, and the United Arab Emirates (No.16).
All eyes, as expected, were focused on defending champion India and once again it mysteriously found itself in the same bracket as neighbouring Pakistan.
Rounding up the group of these Asian powerhouses will be associate nations Namibia, the Netherlands and the United States.
