The Vancouver Canucks are set to dig deep into their goalie depth chart, following the news Kevin Lankinen is staying home for personal reasons.
Before the Canucks flew off to Southern California Tuesday, the team announced that Lankinen would not be travelling with the team. The Canucks face the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday, then a Friday matinee in San Jose. Saturday they’re in Los Angeles and then Tuesday the trip finishes in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche.
Jiri Patera has been called back up and will be the backup goalie presumably on Wednesday, with the previously recalled Nikita Tolopilo expected to get the start.
Tolopilo was called up Monday, replacing Patera, who had previously been recalled after Thatcher Demko suffered a suspected groin injury. Patera made a start la
