Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) has tapped Boston Marine Terminal LLC—the Marina-owner team of Chuck and Ann Lagasse—to redevelop a roughly 16-acre parcel at the tip of the waterfront in the Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park, including the aging “North Jetty” structure. The vote happened this week.

According to the Boston Globe , the plan calls for a heavy-duty ship-repair, freight, and industrial operation at the site off Fid Kennedy Ave in South Boston. The Lagasses already operate marine-industry facilities in Boston, including East Boston, and estimate this expansion could create around 400 jobs.
