Stratford improved to 7-1-2 in its last 10 Greater Ontario Hockey League games after two more weekend home wins.

Jonas Schmidt scored twice and added two assists in Friday’s 7-5 win over St. Thomas. Will Coward had a goal and two helpers, Joseph Curtin added a goal and assist, and Quinn Kipfer, Drew Hodge and Jack McGurn also found the back of the net. Noah Bender made 26 saves.

Stratford scored on both of its power-play opportunities.

Chase Pettipiece, Joey Buzzetta, George Matsos, Myles Dunn and Wyatt Cameron scored for the Stars. Eric McDonald turned aside 27 shots.

In a rare Sunday game at Allman Arena, Max Wildfong scored twice, including 2:51 into overtime to give the Warriors a 3-2 win over Strathroy. Curtin scored the other goal and had an assist. Gage
