TAMPA -- In the span of three weeks, Jake Fraley has come and gone and come back to the Rays.

The Rays on Tuesday officially re-signed Fraley, the 30-year-old corner outfielder, capping a run of transactions in which they claimed him off waivers from the Braves on Nov. 6, designated him for assignment on Nov. 18 and non-tendered him last Friday .

Fraley agreed to a one-year Major League contract worth $3 million with up to $400,000 in performance bonuses, based on the number of days he spends as an active member of the big league roster, according to a source.

The Rays were clearly interested in Fraley, based on their decision to claim him earlier this month, but they were not comfortable carrying him through the arbitration process at his projected salary, which would have been a
