During their Nov. 24 regular meeting, town councillors voted to approve $599,995 to buy and install telescopic theatre seating. Article content

The telescopic seating system will go into the centre’s 3,554 square-metre multi-purpose room, Chelsea Grande, town community services director, told council. The system can seat 322 people.

Telescopic seating is retractable, meaning when it’s expanded, the room can be converted into a theatre “instantaneously,” according to council’s agenda package. When retracted, the seating will be stored against a wall.
