FRAMINGHAM, Mass. —
Tens of millions of drivers will hit the road to visit friends and family this Thanksgiving.
Tuesday is expected to be one of the busier travel days.
AAA projects 73 million people are traveling by car.
Local drivers said they're packing their patience along with their pets as they brace for delays.
"I'm a patient person," said Frances Canfield, who's driving to New York. "I was an elementary school teacher for 37 years, so I'm a patient person, I'm expecting traffic through, like, Waterbury, Hartford."
Frank Ingemi is heading to the Carolinas for Thanksgiving.
"My grandson's going to be racing in the southern nationals," he said.
Sarah Fisher, a Boston resident, said she was heading to Long Island and then upstate New York to see family.
