ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions opened three roster spots, clearing the way for three players expected to be activated from injured reserve.
Detroit waived defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson, cornerback Nick Whiteside and veteran defensive back Arthur Maulet . They added defensive back Erick Hallett II back to its practice squad, as well.
This clears the way for the team to activate edge defenders Marcus Davenport and Josh Paschal, along with rookie offensive lineman Miles Frazier.
Paschal and Frazier are nearing the end of their 21-day return windows and must be activated or kept on injured lists for the rest of the season. Davenport has more time to spare in his acclimation window, but the Lions sound hopeful he could return.
Frazier missed all of training camp and the preseason w
