Cortlandville, N.Y. — A dead body was found near railroad tracks in Cortland County on Tuesday morning, State Police said.

Around 9:01 a.m., troopers were called to Route 281 in Cortlandville for a report of a dead person near the tracks next to Pall Trinity Micro Corp., according to a news release from Trooper Aga Tinker, a State Police spokesperson.

A passerby found the person and called 911, Tinker said.

Troopers are working to identify the individual and determine the cause of death, she said.
