LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Rachel Watson, a math teacher at Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools, received November’s Golden Apple award from 10/11 News and Doane University.
Every month during the school year, 10/11 News and Doane University present the Golden Apple award to a deserving teacher.
A native of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Watson is in her third year of teaching at Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools. She has already made an impact on students and administration, gaining respect from her high school students.
The third-year teacher was nominated by veteran colleague Ken Furstenau, who praised Watson’s diverse contributions to the school community.
“She does so many things well that it is hard to find one story that makes her stand out,” Furstenau wrote in his nomination letter.
