COLUMBUS, Ohio — The holiday season can be stressful, whether the pressure comes from yourself or from outside sources.
10TV spoke with Kelley Breidigan, an assistant clinical professor at The Ohio State University College of Social Work, about how to cope and prepare for the holiday season stress.
Breidigan said it’s important to recognize that “you may have mixed emotions about some of your family members and that's absolutely OK.”
She recommends building a strong support system and making a plan before heading into gatherings you may not feel comfortable attending. That includes thinking ahead about how you can excuse yourself or change the topic of conversation.
