A former Morris County Commissioner admitted to taking bribes in exchange for using his position to help a witness’s law firm get county legal work, the Attorney General’s Office said.
John Cesaro, 53, of Parsippany pleaded guilty on Nov. 17 to third-degree conspiracy to commit bribery in official and political matters.
Cesaro admitted to accepting about $7,700 from a cooperating witness to retain a law firm for government legal work, officials said.
Cesaro accepted the cash from the witness in April and May 2018 at locations in Randolph, Mountain Lakes and Morristown, officials said.
