Just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, DeLand police advised avoiding the Victoria Hills neighborhood and the area near Ridgeway Boulevard and Curry Rise Court.

DeLand police asked anyone nearby to find a safe place for shelter.

Police have taken a subject into custody.
