CLEVELAND — The STATE playoffs have officially arrived.

With the regional champions now decided, the Ohio high school football playoffs enter the state semifinals this Friday, with just 28 teams still in the running for state championships across seven different divisions. Of those 28 teams, nine are from WKYC's 17-county viewing area, with some seeking to add to their trophy cases and others in search of their first-ever OHSAA football titles.

Two schools — Avon and Indian Valley — are seeking to repeat in Divisions II and IV, respectively. Also in Division II, Walsh Jesuit is in search of its first state football championship since 1999, while in D-I St. Edward looks to claim its fourth title in five years.
