If you wanted to ski off your Thanksgiving meal, you’ll have to make other plans. Crystal Mountain Resort announced Tuesday that it will postpone the mountain’s planned Friday opening due to insufficient snow. No new date has been set.
While Mission Ridge has not officially called off its anticipated Friday opening, spokesperson Tony Hickok called the prospect very unlikely” and noted the resort is not currently selling lift tickets for the weekend.
Although the white stuff hit the Cascades earlier than usual last month — Snoqualmie Pass saw measurable snowfall on Oct. 12 — November rain washed away the lower-mountain snowpack and warm temperatures inhibited artificial snow-making.
