As Thanksgiving approaches, one Ooltewah restaurant is turning generosity into action, working to ensure no family goes without a holiday meal.
Davis Wayne’s, a locally owned restaurant , is gearing up to provide fully cooked Thanksgiving meals, completely free of charge, to nearly 100 families in the community.
Co-owner and mixologist Antonia Poland says giving back has been a core part of their mission since the restaurant opened in 2018.
“Last year, I think we fed about 300 people,” Poland said. “But this year, we decided, okay, how can we do more?”
Last year, they partnered with R&B singer Usher Raymond to feed all of the employees at CHI Memorial’s 3 campuses.
To expand their efforts, Davis Wayne’s partnered with the Samaritan Center, which helped identify families in need. The
