SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Missouri Department of Motor Vehicles has brought its FUSION computer systems online.
FUSION stands for Fifty Unique Systems In One Nexus. The updated system connects 50 systems into one platform, enabling streamlined use and adding new features.
The system eliminates temporary license plates. Vehicle buyers can now pay their vehicle tax at the dealership as part of their financing. Dealerships will not need new computer systems but will receive portal access to use the features with their existing systems.
Department of Revenue Director Trish Vincent says the system represents progress for the state.
