Clarence Clemons, the owner of Muddy Waters Ranch in Springfield Township, appeared in court Tuesday, facing 18 counts of animal cruelty after 18 horses were rescued from his facility.
Clemons' attorney filed a motion to suppress evidence, arguing that there was no search warrant at the time of the seizure. Advertisement
The prosecution spent two and a half hours questioning their first witness, an equine veterinarian who examined the horses at the ranch in August.
The veterinarian provided in-depth testimony about eight of the 18 horses, saying that seven were emaciated with visible bones.
Among them, one horse had cancer and another had a tumor, and she said no one should have been riding them. According to her, two of the horses had to be euthanized due to the severit
