Las Vegas ― Syracuse has lost its first two games here in the Players Era Festival, but the Orange still doesn’t know when it will play or which team it will play in the tournament’s final round.

The format for the 18-team event is unlike most tournaments in that it doesn’t use a traditional bracket with winners advancing and losers falling into a separate bracket.

The tournament will use a length list of criteria to break all ties and determine the two teams to play in the “championship’' game, two teams to play in the third-place game, matchups for five more games to be played on Wednesday and the bottom four teams who will wait until Thursday to play their final games here.

Syracuse is 0-2 after losing to Houston and Kansas.

But the Orange might not finish among the last four teams
