BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) - The Brazos County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has issued a warning about scammers calling members of the community.

Officials say scammers are using the name of a BCSO lieutenant who claims to call about missed jury duty.

The office reminded people that law enforcement won’t call you to request payment using gift cards, Bitcoin, or any other method. Officials also say they won’t call to tell you there is a warrant out for your arrest related to jury duty.
