OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The former associate athletic director at Midland University who was charged with 1st-degree sexual assault, has changed his plea.
Steven Heiman, 52, pled guilty on Tuesday to amended charges of 3rd-degree sexual assault and possession of a controlled substance. A charge of recording a person without consent was dismissed.
In October of 2023, prosecutors said Heimann, who is the former head football coach of Presentation College in South Dakota, assaulted a woman at his home after giving her sleeping pills as he was moving to Fremont.
A spokesperson for Midland University said that Heimann was placed on administrative leave following the charges at the time of his arrest. He is not listed as an employee on the university’s website.
