STRUTHERS During a Tuesday, November 24, meeting, the Mahoning County Commissioners discussed a resolution that would impact the employment status of judges in Struthers.
The resolution on the agenda was listed to be in support of the conversion of Struthers Municipal Court judges from part-time to full-time.
Judge James Melone spoke to commissioners during the meeting, citing that the workload had increased by about 1,600 cases since 2024.
The Struthers Municipal Court covers several jurisdictions, including:

Village of Lowellville
Poland Village
Poland Township
Village of New Middletown
Springfield Township
Judge Melone says that he wants to bring Struthers to full-time so that the judges can provide community programs like other area full-time courts.
