CINCINNATI, Ohio — Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow gets the concerns of those who think he should be shut down for the rest of the season following his turf toe injury instead of returning for Thanksgiving against the Ravens in Baltimore.

Cincinnati is 3-8 with slim odds at making the playoffs. But despite those small odds, Burrow wants to play after missing the last nine games.

He explained why in his Tuesday press conference.

“Yes, I understand why people feel that way. But you look at it from my perspective. I’m a football player, and if I get hurt, I’m gonna go through the rehab process, and then I’m gonna let everybody know when I feel like I can go out there and play,” Burrow told reporters, offering a window into his decision-making process.
