CINCINNATI, Ohio — Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase has returned from his one-game suspension for spitting on Steelers defensive back Jalen Ramsey on Nov. 16.

Chase issued a statement on Instagram on Monday apologizing for his actions during the Steelers game, which resulted in his suspension. When asked at his Tuesday press conference about why he chose to make the public apology, Chase explained his thinking.

“Just getting it out, giving a moment to apologize to everybody just letting myself get out of control, out of character, basically messing over my name, organization, NFL and everybody else associated with me,” Chase told reporters.
