A series of recent policy decisions at the Environmental Protection Agency have raised concerns among legislators and activists about President Donald Trump’s pledge to “ Make America Healthy Again .”
The latest outcry came this week as the EPA approved the use of two pesticides containing “forever chemicals” as an active ingredient. The new pesticides , cyclobutrifluram and isocycloseram, will be used on agricultural crops, turf and ornamental plants.
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, also known as PFAS , are long-lasting chemicals that have been linked to fertility issues, increased risk of certain cancers and birth defects, among other health issues.
