It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Fire Chief Mark S. Subasic at the age of 67. Mark left this world on November 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, sacrifice, service, and love. He was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy L. (Coss) Subasic. He was born on June 26, 1958, at Wheeling Hospital.

Mark was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and an esteemed member of the Bridgeport community. He served on the Bridgeport Fire Department for 50 years, rising to the position of Chief, where he led with unwavering commitment and sacrifice for 34 years. He was also a founding member of the Bridgeport Fire Department Ambulance and Paramedic Service and a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017 by the Belmont County Fire and Squad Officer
