DRYBROOK endured a grim afternoon on the road as they slumped to a 52 to 10 defeat at Lichfield, in what was one of their most uncharacteristic performances of the season, writes Chris Tingle.
The day felt dark and dismal from the outset and not just because of the weather. Supporters are used to seeing a Drybrook side that digs in regardless of the scoreline, but this was a rare outing where the squad struggled to find their usual rhythm and intensity against a well organised opposition.
Lichfield made a sharp start and were seven points up within six minutes. Drybrook hit back with a promising spell of possession that earned a penalty, calmly slotted by Josh Burnett, offering a brief foothold.
