FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- As people gas up their cars and get ready to travel this Thanksgiving, some drivers are concerned with safety on the road.
"I've seen a lot of drunk drivers. I've seen accidents happen in front of me. It definitely makes me nervous, especially when you have children," said Fresno resident Daniel Thompson.
On Wednesday evening, the California Highway Patrol said it will begin its maximum enforcement period for the holiday.
"We want to be visible to slow those drivers down. And to also be vigilant for those unsafe drivers out there that are causing most of the problems out there," said CHP spokesman Mike Salas.
