At least that seems to be the case with LSU’s coaching searches. There’s always an element of drama, surprise and intrigue.

Tiger fans were convinced Tom Herman was coming to Baton Rouge in 2016… until he didn’t. Rumors swirled around Lincoln Riley before he flatly stated that he would not become the next head coach at LSU. Turns out, he became the coach at Southern Cal instead.

The drama surrounding Riley and Herman is in some ways similar to what LSU faces this year in its pursuit of Lane Kiffin.
