Michiana's winter weather ramps up later today, likely resulting in treacherous travel through the afternoon and evening for the northern half of our forecast area. Lake effect snow and winds gusting up to 40 mph will both develop later this morning, although we likely won't experience winter weather impacts until the second half of the day. In some communities/cities across our southern Michigan counties, snow totals will meet or exceed three inches by the end of today.
