JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Shoppers preparing for Thanksgiving will find their grocery bills slightly lighter this year, according to new data from the American Farm Bureau Federation.
The cost of traditional Thanksgiving staples has dropped 5% compared to 2024, the organization reported. The decrease comes as a relief to many consumers who had braced for higher prices.
“I wasn’t expecting that at all. I was expecting it to be more, another 20 maybe 30,” said Kendrick Smith, a local shopper.
Frozen turkeys showed a significant price drop, costing about $3.44 less than last year.
