After surprising staff with her visit to Newcastle Christmas Market on Monday evening, TV star Alison Hammond enjoyed another festive tradition in the Toon on Tuesday. Along with many others, the This Morning presenter took her seat inside the Theatre Royal, to cheer on her friends on opening night of this year's panto Aladdin.

Some 23 years after first shooting to fame in the third series of Big Brother, Alison is one of the most recognisable faces on British television, thanks to her being one of the main hosts on This Morning, as well as landing a primetime role on The Great British Bake Off. And this week, as she gets ready to star in panto herself in her native Birmingham, the popular star has been seeing the sights of Newcastle.
