MONROE, La. (KNOE) - President George Washington held the first meeting of his cabinet at his home on Nov. 26, 1791.

It was held at Mount Vernon with Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton, Secretary of War Henry Knox, and Attorney General Edmund Randolph attending.
