A much-loved tearoom in Colchester is set to reopen under new management after many were left disappointed by its closure earlier this year.
Historic Tymperleys closed its doors for the last time on September 23.
Housed in the 15th-century property it was once home to the renowned Colchester-born scientist William Gilberd.
In September its owners announcing how "with the continued rising costs it has become impossible to continue trading.”
The closure was met with an outpouring of affection from the community, many of whom shared memories of enjoying the tearoom’s famous Afternoon Teas, quiches, and inviting atmosphere.
Now, new managers Ilhan and Semra Sahinoglu, who have long been familiar with Tymperleys through their Café Med business nearby, will take the helm.
