Travel could be dangerous in parts of Michigan this Thanksgiving, weather forecasters warn.

The worst conditions are forecast in the Upper Peninsula, where a weather system is expected to bring anywhere from 17-30 inches of snow between Tuesday evening and Thursday morning, especially in high-terrain areas, according to the National Weather Service. High winds also are expected.

A blizzard warning has been issued for Gogebic, Ontonagon, Keweenah, Baraga, Marquette and Alger counties, plus the northern half of Houghton County, the NWS said, warning that “travel could be very difficult to impossible.”
