The Thanksgiving Day forecast for New Jersey calls for a big temperature drop and wind gusts up to 40 mph after widespread rain on Wednesday night.
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are moving through southern New Jersey and the coastal areas Wednesday morning. This round of rain should move offshore by mid to late morning.
The next showers and scattered downpours will arrive late Wednesday afternoon as a cold front moves through between 5 and 10 p.m.
Ahead of that front, Wednesday will be mild with high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s across New Jersey. Newark, Atlantic City and Trenton airports are expected to stay 3 to 6 degrees below their daily temperature records.
