Two homes have flooded after thousands of gallons of water spilled from the road and into the properties.
Fire crews from Haverhill and Holbrook were mobilised shortly after 1am to attend a flooding incident caused by a burst water main in Manningtree Road in Stutton.
No further homes were affected.
UK Power Networks isolated the electricity to the affected houses, Anglian Water shut off the water supply to the main, and the police worked with Suffolk Highways to put a road closure in place.
Firefighters pumped flood water from the area and did door-to-door welfare checks and helped those affected salvage their belongings.
No casualties were reported, but one homeowner relocated to the first floor of their house.
As well as Manningtree Road, Alton Hall Lane, Church Road and Baytree
