CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The holiday shopping season officially begins the day after Thanksgiving, with local malls and Main Street organizations preparing for the annual Black Friday and Small Business Saturday rush. Shoppers can find deep discounts at major retailers and unique gifts at local shops throughout the region.

The Meadowbrook Mall in Bridgeport will kick off the season Friday, Nov. 28, at 6 a.m. with doorbuster deals from its merchants.

To reward early birds, the first 200 people in line at the Food Court entrance will receive "SWAG bags" filled with discounts. Each bag will contain a chocolate bar with a number that can be redeemed at the Customer Service center for a gift card, with a grand prize of a $500 Meadowbrook Mall gift card.
