A driver who was arrested after an elderly man was knocked down by a car in Bury has been 'de-arrested', police have confirmed.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene of the crash on Haymarket Street, at the junction with Angouleme Way, on Tuesday (November 25). The road was closed off by emergency crews following the incident.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that a car had struck a pedestrian, an elderly man, who was then taken to hospital for treatment. The nature of his condition was not confirmed, but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
The driver of the car, a man, was later arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs. He was taken into custody for questioning.
